As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden hue over Lekki, the evening breeze swept through the canyon hall events center, heralding the commencement of preparations for a momentous occasion. The air was filled with a sense of anticipation and excitement as vendors hurried to put the finishing touches in place for the 20th Anniversary celebration of the Apostles in the Market Place (AiMP).
Founded in 2003 by a group of young Christian professionals driven by a shared vision of societal transformation, AiMP has been a beacon of hope and change in Nigeria and beyond. Through a myriad of training programs, seminars, and workshops, the organization has empowered countless individuals to become agents of positive change in their respective spheres of influence.
One such individual is Tolu Olowofeyeku, the visionary behind the acclaimed Disney animation “iwàjù,” whose journey from AiMP’s Change Agents Academy (CAA) to renowned creator serves as a testament to the organization’s impact.
What sets AiMP apart is not only its mission but also the caliber of individuals who champion its cause. With esteemed figures like the late Richard Dick Kramer, founding manager of African Capital Alliance, and Dr. Christopher Kolade, a stalwart in Nigeria’s nation-building process, among its board members, AiMP boasts a wealth of expertise and experience.
As guests, board members, and awardees began to arrive at the venue, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement and nostalgia. It was a time to reflect on the organization’s journey and to honor those who have tirelessly supported its mission over the years.
In his opening remarks, the chairman of the board set the tone for the evening, urging everyone to redouble their efforts in embracing the ever-evolving landscape of societal transformation.
As the celebrations unfolded, it became clear that AiMP’s impact transcends borders and generations, leaving an indelible mark on the fabric of society.
Here’s to 20 years of transformation, and to many more years of inspiring change and empowering leaders for a better tomorrow.
